This is just a quick and dirty list of projects involving the fediverse or decentralization that could be promising or turn out to be great.

• GetTogetherComm - A soon to be federated, decentralized version of meetup.com. Over on Mastodon.

• Pleroma - A twitter-esque decentralized social media service.

• PixFed - Federated and decentralized photo-sharing platform.

• FunkWhale - Self-hosted music platform.

• WriteFreely - Self-hosted blogging/writing platform. Federated. And on Mastodon.

• Mastodon - Federated decentralized twitter-esque service.

• PeerTube - Decentralized video hosting. Basically a lot like YouTube.

• SearX - Privacy respecting, self-hosted, hackable metasearch engine. Searches many search engines for you.

• Scuttlebutt - Decentralized ‘gossip’ protocol based on passing mesages between clients until they reach their destination.

• DeltaChat - IM client similar to Discord and Telegram except that it uses email as a back end.
