Gamedev Audio Resources

Audio Resources

This is just a collection of assorted audio resources I’ve found for gamedev and jams.

sfxr - A tiny little program for creating simple sound effects. Has useful presets, mutate current sound, export as wav, etc.

bfxr - A somewhat more capable improvement on sfxr. Comes in both web-based flash version, and standalone download.

jfxr - Yet another sound effect generator. Web based, available on github if you want to tinker.

iNudge - Sort of a simple web based tracker program. Might be good for background tracks and such if you don’t have access to something like Fruity Loops. Doesn’t have a way to export audio though, so you’d have to record it using something like Audacity.

Sunvox - Pretty nifty free audio software. Probably very good for making old school soundtracks.

Audacity - Free audio editing package.

Wavosaur - Free wav editing package. Particularly handy for splitting MP3 files. ASIO and VST support.

Bosca Ceoil - Free, open source tracker style music generator.
