We survived! Also, nerdery...

So, we survived Inauguration Day. And without any serious shenanigan even. Trump ha wandered off to Mar-a-Lago (at least until Palm Beach throws him out), and is threatening to form a new political party. If he does that all he’ll do is drag quite a lot of votes from the GOP and insure they never win another election. That’d just be terrible. Really. I’d be sooooooo sad. Anyway, on the nerdery front… I mentioned to a friend of mine that I’d tried to like emacs a few times, but couldn’t get used to it.

So much craziness...

Okay, I did say when I reset my blog that I was going to try and avoid politics as much as possible, but the whole thing on he 6th kind of at least temporarily shot that all down… I’m not even sure where to start with all of this. Apparently since Trump lost the election through the nefarious machinations of the democrats (who were so super slick and ninja-like in their crimes that they left no evidence at all, because nobody has yet managed to get any in front of a judge…unless you go with the argument that there is evidence, but apparently every single judge Trump’s lawyers have talked to have been in on a vast and well-nigh omnipotent conspiracy to deprive Trump of his win…), the only alternative was to show up at the Capitol, and break into the place.

Notes from the void...

Well. Still here. Still uninfected. I feel like I’m talking about a zombie movie… “We’ve barricaded ourselves in the abandoned factory, none of us are infected as yet, but the dead ceaselessly circle the grounds looking for a way in…” Seriously though, all good so far. And there’s apparently several vaccines coming soon, so…might just make it through this shit without dying. Just have to make it another few months.

July 5th and all is well, mostly...

Hmmm, so..the 5th of July and we’re still doing the coronavirus thing. On the bright side, the infection rate around where I am is pretty low. On the down side, can’t really go anywhere or do anything away from home. At least I’m catching up on all the anime and movies I’d been intending to see (Shazam!, Aquaman, Dorohedoro) and rewatched a few I haven’t seem im quite a while (Ink, Dark City)…

Keeping track of Github project updates.

I was recently looking for a handy way to keep track of updates to Github projects I use, and one that didn’t involve me getting bunches of email. I hit on what I think is a pretty handy way to do it. I already use the terminal RSS client newsboat to do most of my news reading and stuff so why not press it into service monitoring Github projects too?

My First Post

So I decided that since I was rebuilding everything anyway, I’d rebuild my little blog thingie too. So, here it is. I make no promises on posting frequency or content, but…here it is.
